About CryptoList

Illustration of the CryptoList research desk reviewing Australian crypto data

CryptoList.com.au is an independent Australian comparison and information site for cryptocurrency: exchanges, wallets, tax tools, ETFs and the regulations that govern them.

The site is operated by CryptoList Research โ€” a data-first editorial system: a verified fact database with per-field sources, automated freshness checks, and generation rules that prevent published claims from contradicting the data. The same system tracks Australia's crypto licensing transition on our AFSL tracker.

We are not licensed to provide financial advice, and nothing here is advice โ€” we publish information and comparisons so you can decide. Our funding is disclosed at how we make money; our method at how we review.

How the site actually works

Everything on CryptoList is generated from a single verified database rather than written page by page. Exchange fees, licensing statuses, coin prices and incident histories are stored as facts with a source URL and a verification date attached to each one; pages are built from those facts, so a review can't quietly contradict the fee table, and a stale claim gets flagged by automated freshness checks rather than waiting for someone to notice. Market data refreshes every ten minutes, news every thirty, and the whole site rebuilds daily so computed figures โ€” tax countdowns, the altcoin season index, licensing deadlines โ€” stay current without manual edits.

What we will and won't do

We list AUSTRAC-registered platforms only, we track failures as carefully as fees (the exchange graveyard is as much a part of this site as the reviews), and affiliate partnerships never touch scores or rankings โ€” our best-paying partners' pages carry their full incident histories. We won't publish price predictions, sponsored editorial, or "top picks" that can't be traced to data you can inspect. Where we're wrong, we say so: see corrections.
