Our listing policy
CryptoList compares AUSTRAC-registered platforms only. Registration with AUSTRAC — Australia's financial intelligence agency — is the baseline legal requirement for operating a digital currency exchange serving Australians. It doesn't guarantee an exchange is good (our reviews exist for that), but a platform unwilling or unable to meet the baseline doesn't belong in a comparison built for Australian users.
From April 2027, Australia's new licensing regime raises that baseline to a full Australian Financial Services Licence. Our AFSL tracker follows every platform's progress, and this policy will tighten with the law.
Exchanges we deliberately don't list
Not AUSTRAC-registered; no native AUD rails; Feb 2025 US$1.5B hack (funds covered).
AUSTRAC registration unverified as at Jul 2026 — add if verified.
We also exclude wallet apps and platforms whose main distribution strategy is paying affiliate sites for promotion while lacking an independent reputation — if a product's best argument is its commission rate, it fails our test. And we never list presales, "1000×" tokens, or crypto casinos, at any price.
Think we've got something wrong — or that a platform now qualifies? Tell us. Exchanges that collapsed or left the market are recorded in the exchange graveyard.
This policy is applied automatically from our fact database and reviewed when regulations change.
