What is FUD?
Fear, uncertainty and doubt — crypto slang for negative information, real or manufactured. Note the dual use: genuine criticism gets dismissed as "FUD" too.
FUD — fear, uncertainty and doubt — is crypto's word for negative information, and it carries a deliberate ambiguity. Sometimes it names a real thing: coordinated scare campaigns and manufactured panic designed to shake out holders. Just as often it's a thought-terminating dismissal — any criticism, however accurate, waved away as "FUD" by people with a position to defend.
The skill is separating the two, and the test is simple: is the claim checkable? Regulatory filings, court documents, on-chain data and reserve reports are facts whatever they do to the price; anonymous doom with no source is noise whatever it does to your nerves. A community that answers documented criticism with "FUD" is answering a question with a mood — treat that as information too.

FAQ
Is spreading FUD illegal?
Spreading false information to move a market you're trading can constitute market manipulation in regulated contexts. Sharing true negative information never is — which is exactly why the label gets abused.
How do I tell FUD from a real red flag?
Source and checkability. A red flag survives verification: it cites documents, data or named events you can confirm. FUD evaporates when you ask "says who, based on what?"
