Our take
Zengo replaces the seed phrase with MPC cryptography: your key exists as two mathematical shares — one on your phone, one on Zengo’s servers — that co-sign without ever combining. Recovery works through encrypted backup plus face mapping, so there is nothing to write down and nothing to phish.
Zengo reports zero wallets hacked since launching in 2018. The structural trade: recovery depends on Zengo the company existing (a published recovery escrow mitigates this), and the closed-source model asks for trust that seed-phrase wallets don’t.
